New blog post, on coordination freedom and the rules of cloud scaling: brooker.co.za/blog/2021/01/2… It's about the conception that algorithms like Paxos and Raft are about scalability, which is mostly (not entirely) not true. Instead, scalability comes from avoiding coordination.
